Tian Xia Cafe is near to the perak rd wet market. the location is actually at jln slim but the map put jln perak. strange. this eatery is housed in a residential area, big and spacious, with 3 areas for dining (outside, on the open, inside centre, and behind near the kitchen).
the curry mee stall. Food prepared by a foreigner, although the owner, a local chinese woman was there to take order
special white curry mee. RM17.00
with 3 big prawns - that's where the special comes in
taste was quite good but there are a few others better. the chilli is on the table for you to help yourself.
showing close up of the prawns. er... actually not that very big but then good thing that the prawns are fresh and tasted delicous
beside curry mee, there are the usual hawkers fare like char koay teow, koay teow th'ng, chicken rice, breakfast set and so on.
i also order two side dishes after being persuaded by the friendly lady owner.
2 pcs lor bak at RM7.00 (left)
2 pcs belacan chicken wings at RM8.00 (right)
the lorbak is just average. it was a bit sweet, which i don't like.
the belacan (shrimp paste) chicken wings, though crispy but also average taste only. can't really feel the belacan taste in it.
if you go marketing at perak rd market, you can drop in to try their food. however if you are not going to the market, avoid going in the morning when the market is busy as no place to park. going in the evening time is best.
