Chiefeater Jack Tan decided to be poetic in describing his delightful lunch at Nasi Bamboo Sungai Klah Sungkai
Local Breakfast, Nasi Lemak, Malay, Halal
Weekend rides into the countryside being my usual thing, I decided to head to the west coast towards Morib for breakfast this time. I had seen good ratings for Morib Cafe and it seemed like an interesting place to have simple local coffee and enjoy the sea breeze. The cafe is located in a small yet clean and cozy food court at Morib beach facing the sea.
I arrived there at mid-morning and found the place almost full of cyclists and big-bike riders. This is a good spot if you want to see the latest carbon road bicycles or big touring motorcycles all lined up.
I ordered a nasi lemak with squid sambal (RM8) and plain coffee (RM1): note the surprisingly affordable prices when the clientele is mostly from out of town. The rice was fragrant, the plain sambal was spicy with a hint of sweetness, and the squid was soft and had absorbed hints of lemongrass from its own sambal gravy. The coffee tasted like traditional sock coffee with plenty of condensed milk to tamper the bitter, strong flavor.
A good quick stop for breakfast and you could then head south towards Sungai Pelek, Port Dickson or the Malacca coast for lunch.
