Vietnamese, Pho
Possibly one of the best – the other being the Michelin Select Pho Viet Nam in HCMC. Hands down. This is as authentic as it gets. Choice cuts of meat- balls to tripes in a deep, rich broth (unlike the ones we get outside Vietnam). I’m not a great fan of pho and Viet food in general- but this place and Bep Me In, are must do’s in your culinary list if you’re on a short trip here.

Try the special and order extra meatballs separately! The best pho added with the fragrance of varieittes of vege given. Defo one of the best phos in HCMC – it’s got a piquant, deeper flavoured broth vs some of the other places.

The parts of meat were all excellent – but the tripe, tendon and meatballs would be the Crown Jewels. I didn’t know what to choose (so went for the Special, that had a bit of everything in it). You won’t be disappointed. Just a note – there’s nothing else besides beef being sold.

You’ve got pictures all over the resto depicting each part of the cow to make things easier. Might not appeal to everyone. The bovine scent permeates and is immediately detectable when you enter the restaurant.
Overall 7.5/10 experience- a definite must try in HCMC. Hard to make more authentic: recommended by a few hotel concierges as the Phó par excellence, well it is … excellent! Only beef (different pieces to choose from), perfectly accompanied by vegetables and condiments. Very simple setting and very attractive prices.
