Japanese, Omakase
Sushinosuke Malaysia is the spin-off of a Tokyo casual omakase specialist – a 16-seater establishment. This is a worthwhile destination in Pinnacle Petaling Jaya for sushi enthusiasts, spearheaded by a young, friendly team of three Japanese chefs and a Malaysian manager, serving 20-course dinners for RM388++.

Sushinosuke MY’s kitchen maestro Shou Emi and his team do a delightful job with delectable Japanese produce – honouring traditional ingredients through skilled preparations and harmonious combinations, revealing a synergistic interplay between the catch of the sea and the harvest of the earth, from Hiroshima snapper with calamansi to tuna fin with onion sauce, soulful and satisfying in their sumptuous simplicity.

This Japanese eatery is the first Malaysia outpost of Tokyo’s very own Sushinosuke in Shimbashi. While many omakase restaurants here opt for the grandeur, Sushinosuke keeps things on the casual side, opting for a more laidback Japanese omakase restaurant, similar to those you’ll find on the streets of Japan.

Overall a good experience interacting with the Japanese chefs. This is a 7/10 omakase experience.

I personally loved their sake and shochu list – which we shared copiously with the chefs.
Makes we wonder if what I’m paying for (omakase) in other countries is over priced!
