Just when you thought that Holland Village cannot get any more crowded with cafes, here’s a ‘hidden gem’ – Frankie & Fern’s. Where? Tucked away on the fourth floor of Holland Village Shopping Centre (that same building with the Cold Storage), Frankie & Fern’s offers a retreat from the bustling streets below with its home-like setting. I don’t usually write about cafes and patisseries but bcos Frankie & Fern’s is a hidden gem where we live – and my daughter likes a good matcha & pastries – here goes.
Offering brunch until 4 pm, their selection ranges from hearty options, open toast sandwiches, mains, sharing plates and bakes. This includes the Frankie’s Breakfast (SGD26), a lavish platter of scrambled eggs, kale, bacon, and more; to vegetarian delights such as the Veggie Brekkie (SGD26) which includes a similar assortment with vegetarian substitutes.
The strawberry matcha was refreshing – sorry no pictures. For more serious coffee drinkers the home brewed “Magic” blend was quite magical indeed. The matcha with oat milk was also good.
The apple pie with ice cream (el Classico) was good, but the caramel drizzle brings it to the next level. Reminded me of the dessert at Cote.
Total overall 6.5/10 experience. Might be a 7+ if you’re a teenager with the grammable moments
If you’re on the hunt for a soft, cozy escape where contemporary charm meets culinary delight, Frankie & Fern’s at Holland Village is your next destination. Born from a serendipitous meeting at a flea market, this cafe is a testament to the magic that happens when two passionate souls—Frank and Fern—combine their love for flavours, art, and treasures. Step inside for a delightful escape from the daily grind, perfect for unwinding with good food and great company.
