The Char Kuey Teow at Chow Yang Kopitiam was good. It’s one of the CKT that’s still fried by a local.

The flavor profile was solid, and the dish exhibited good wok hei. The taugeh was notably crunchy, adding a fresh texture to every bite. There were a few detractors: it was served without fried lard or a banana leaf base, and they included fish cakes, which might not suit the purists. However, purely on taste, it remains a very satisfying plate.

I also sampled the White Curry Mee. This was just decent, providing a standard bowl of noodles that didn’t quite reach the same level of impact as the CKT.
