The ever popular Nasi Lemak at Nasi Lemak Shila comes in various shapes, size, toppings and price points. There the basic Nasi Lemak very affordable price, around RM 1 (Subjective to location and toppings) , usually prepackaged, usually sold at road side stalls, (and now at Vending Machine it seems) there the more upmarket version where one can pick and choose the toppings, and there the upmarket pricy version by restaurant and hotels.
While the Malay Version is predominant, in multicultural Malaysia, there are other versions eg Indian, Nonya, Chinese and versions / toppings that are particularly to a place.
In the simplest essence, Nasi Lemak is rice cooked with Coconut Milk, with various toppings, usually with Deep Fried Ikan Belia (Anchovies), toasted peanut, eggs, and the sambal, a power pack meal design to fuel the person for work, usually available for breakfast but is now available the whole day, a Meal for Workman, Office Workers, Executive or…..
