Char Kuey Teow, Street Food, Non-Halal
Dinner at Ah Yam’s Char Koay Teow at 99 McNair Food Hub on McNair Road. Truly one of the best 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳 𝘬𝘰𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘦𝘰𝘸 I’d had – I first came across him when he was frying at Jetty Food Court back in 2016, then Bom Baa Kopitiam in 2017, and was last at Gurney Drive Hawker Centre before he finally moved here at the beginning of this year.

53-year-old Chen Chong Wooi @ Ah Yam produces one of the tastiest 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳 𝘬𝘰𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘦𝘰𝘸 in town. His master/”sifu” fries at King Prawn Char Koay Teow, Khoon Hiang kopitiam on Dato’ Keramat Road – but I much prefer Ah Yam’s version to his sifu’s – quite close to Ah Leng @ Zoo Road’s style.

Ah Yam’s 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳 𝘬𝘰𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘦𝘰𝘸 stall operates 11am to 10.30pm daily. Closed on alternate Wednesdays when McNair Food Hub is closed
