Bak Kut Teh, Non-Halal
Fei Zai Bak Kut Teh has quietly relocated to Jalan 17/1A, taking over the old Rika Cafe lot — and the upgrade comes with air-conditioning, which makes the BKT sessions all the more comfortable without losing any of the old charm.

Dinner was hearty and satisfying. We ordered the classic soup BKT, the dry BKT, and a pot of yellow wine chicken. The soup BKT remains deeply herbal, just like before — savoury and soul-warming, with tender cuts of pork and a generous variety of tofu pok, mushrooms and enoki. The dry BKT was rich and sticky, glazed in dark soy with dried chilli heat and that signature smoky edge. And the yellow wine chicken? Comfort in a claypot — the broth was silky and aromatic, with a fragrant wine note that didn’t overpower the dish.

Despite the new, more polished air-conditioned setting, Fei Zai Bak Kut Teh has kept prices refreshingly down to earth. RM178 for seven people is remarkable value these days, especially given the generous portions and consistent quality.
