Dim Sum
Lhong Men Dim Sum Restaurant had just opened in early November 2026, and Jen and I happened to be staying directly opposite it during our visit to George Town, Penang. Since it opened as early as 7 am, we decided to drop in for breakfast.

When the Lhongmen Siu Mai arrived, I immediately thought it looked familiar. It reminded me of the siew mai from Lhong Tou in Pulau Tikus.

Later, the outlet manager came by and confirmed my suspicion. Lhong Men is indeed a sister outlet of Lhong Tou.
We also ordered the Crystal Prawn Dumplings, HK Style Char Siu Cheong Fun, Char Siu Bao and Stir-Fried Turnip Cake with Savoury Sauce.

However it was the siew mai was still the star of our breakfast.

The restaurant itself has a contemporary Chinese dining room, with upholstered teal chairs, round tables dressed in red tablecloths, wood-panelled walls and warm accent lighting. It’s a rather different setting from the traditional dim sum restaurants one might expect.

For those familiar with Lhong Tou’s siew mai, Lhong Men offers another place to enjoy it, conveniently opening early for breakfast.
Lhongmen Siu Mai – RM12.30
Lhongmen Crystal Prawn Dumplings – RM13.90
HK Style Char Siu Cheong Fun – RM16.90

M – Meal Value
At RM95.50 for two people, including Chinese tea and service charge, this is a relatively substantial breakfast bill. The siew mai was the clear highlight.
Score: 7.0/10
V – Vibe & Venue
The restaurant has a thoughtfully furnished contemporary interior, with upholstered chairs, warm lighting and a more polished dining environment than a typical basic dim sum shop. Toilets and parking were not assessed.
Score: 8.0/10
X – X-Factor
The standout siew mai and the unexpected discovery that Lhong Men is a sister outlet of Lhong Tou give this new restaurant its appeal.
Score: 7.5/10
