Step into The Rustic Grill, and you’re immediately enveloped by a blend of warm and modern interior design. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the busy Uptown Damansara area, it sets the perfect stage for a satisfying meal.
We dove straight into the menu with two pillars of comfort:
The classic “Fish & Chips”: This plate is all about texture. Three large fish fillets are coated in a thick, craggy batter and deep-fried to a resonant golden crisp. This creates a satisfying contrast to the steaming, flaky white fish inside. Served alongside are robust, herb-dusted fries and a mountain of creamy coleslaw, offering all the requisite elements of a pub-style classic. The tartare sauce is great, too.

The “Grilled Brine Chicken”: In stark contrast, this dish is a masterclass in composed plating. The charbroiled chicken thigh features a deep smoky char, resting beautifully on velvety mashed potatoes and a bed of grilled vegetables. The presentation is elevated by bright, concentric swirls of herb oil and a tangy pepper-radish salsa, adding both visual flair and essential acidic balance to the smoky, savoury flavors.

The Rustic Grill manages to nail the hearty satisfaction of classic comfort food staples. The space is beautiful, the textures are pronounced, and the flavours are deeply grounded—definitely a place to unwind and indulge.
Our order even included an excellent complimentary appetizer of bread and cream soup.

Priced at RM28 each, it offers good value, and I will definitely be back.
Final thoughts: Loved the grilled chicken and grilled vegetables; an excellent choice for fish & chips within the area.
