If you know, you will know! Ng Kee Cake Shop was first started by Mr Loh Ng 羅伍 as a food stall since early 1900s. Was famous for traditional Cantonese cakes and pastries. Was popular among the town people especially those from the Singapore.
Other popular pastries include Cantonese wedding pastries and cookies, phoenix pastries, moloso biscuits, pepper biscuits, coconut tarts, wife biscuits..etc. Variety of authentic mooncakes are also available during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
It was previously located at People’s Court Block C, before being moved to the current premises in Cintra Street. The shop is now operated by Mr Loh Mun Loong 罗文隆 (third-generation successor) and his daughter Esther Loh May Wei 羅媚薇 (fourth-generation successor). A shop I believed was frequently visited by my grandparents too.
