Hock Poh Lye Cafe Mee Goreng
Mee Goreng, Street Food
- Under RM20 per pax
Chiefeater Hedges Liang had planned to have something else when he noticed there was a mee goreng stall at Hock Poh Lye Cafe
Vegetarian, Nasi Ulam
This five-foot way stall is located in front of the GoOrangic shop along Solok Moulmein in Pulau Tikus.
Ms Chan, the friendly proprietress attending to her customers.
It offers various types of vegetarian food including nasi ulam, lei cha, mushroom burger, char siew rice, chicken rice, green curry spaghetti, perut ikan, Nyonya acar, tempeh and chick pea.
Vegetarian burgers are among the vegetarian food items sold at this stall.
Green Curry Spaghetti, a must-try item that has a touch of east and west.
Nyonya acar, a spicy mixed vegetable pickle, an excellent accompaniment to our meals.
A vegetarian version of perut ikan, a popular Nyonya side-dish with vegetables and herbs minus the fish stomach.
Nasi ulam; a traditional rice salad with various types of herbs and vegetables.
Lei Cha; a Hakka rice dish with finely cut vegetables, nuts, beans and herbs. It is served with a thick, green soup.
Bottled drinks like soya milk, luo han guo, hawthorn and lemongrass are also sold here. Black soya beancurd, agar-agar and assorted desserts are available too.
Personally, I am impressed by the neat packaging and nice presentation of the food. The nasi ulam and lei cha with their multi-colour ingredients are very appealing. And they taste as good as they look too.
