Thai, Pork-Free
My friend and I had an excellent Modern-Thai lunch at The Caffeine Cartel. Well-balanced, authentic flavours in the cooking by Pennapra Yathai which saw her establishment being awarded the prestigious Thai Select certification by Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce.

Thai Select Certification

Our lunch consisted of:
🔸𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘤 & 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘪 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘭 𝘦𝘥𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘦 – spicy, fragrant amuse geule.

🔸𝘛𝘰𝘮𝘺𝘶𝘮 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘯𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴 – very rich seafood bisque, given a Thai accent. Best quality seafood used.

🔸𝘗𝘢𝘥 𝘬𝘳𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘯.

🔸𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘱 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘴. Absolutely my favourite dish at lunch today: super-fresh shrimps, blanketed by a deliciously rich green curry sauce.

Desserts
🔸𝘒𝘩𝘢𝘰 𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘶𝘢𝘯𝘨 (𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘪 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘺 𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘦). Absolutely spot on in terms of flavours and textures – sweetened, coconut milk-enriched glutinous rice, the way we get it in Thailand.

🔸𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘪 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘬 𝘵𝘦𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘢. Very fragrant “cha yen” aroma, lovely texture of the jiggly panna cotta.

🔸𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘪 𝘤𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘤𝘦-𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘴𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘦.

Drinks
🔸𝘕𝘢𝘮 𝘸𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘰𝘬 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘳𝘢𝘰 (𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘪 𝘤𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘶𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘢𝘳 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘬).

🔸𝘊𝘩𝘢 𝘺𝘦𝘯 (𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘪 𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘬 𝘵𝘦𝘢).
