Fried Chicken Rice
There are days when what I want for lunch is quite simple. Something decent, reasonably priced and, given Puchong’s afternoon heat, somewhere air-conditioned.
Yi Kopitiam in Pusat Bandar Puchong ticks those boxes.
I had the Mongolian Fried Chicken Rice, which comes as a fairly substantial plate with fried chicken cutlet, rice, fried egg, crackers and a tomato and onion garnish.

The chicken was pretty decent. The coating had a good crunch to it, while the meat inside remained tender enough. The tomato and onion helped cut through some of the richness of the fried chicken and added some freshness to the plate.

This isn’t one of those meals I’m going to drive across town specifically to eat, but that’s not really the point. At RM15.90, it makes sense as an everyday lunch, particularly when you can sit down and eat it comfortably in an air-conditioned kopitiam.
Sometimes that’s enough reason to come back.
