One of KL’s destination dining spots: Bar X Grill David in TTDI, with its earnest, competent cooking. We had a marvelous dinner spread:

Appetisers
– Squid ink croquette, with squid ink, garlic alioli and gremolata.
– Scallop tart topped with Arenkha (smoked herring) caviar
– Slow-cooked beef marmalade tart
– Honey corn ribs with porcini and pecorino cheese

Mains
– Beef marrow with porcini and pecorino cheese.

– Wagyu beef cheek Bourguignon, with red wine reduction, mushroom, burnt onion, truffle oil and pomme puree gratin.

– Rack of lamb (Australian) with mushrooms, butter beans, crumbed parmesan, mint gremolata, jus.

Desserts
2 portions of Crepe Suzette – rench crepes with caramelized sugar-butter sauce, orange sauce, Cointreau and vanilla ice-cream.
