Balinese, Pork-Free
KafeBali Puchong is Bumbu Bali’s sister outlet that offers a more contemporary cuisine as well as interior design, catering to the Instagram generation. And it certainly draws in lots of people who seem more intent on taking pictures than consuming their meals. Their cuisine is described as a Balinese Western fusion.
But what’s their food like? It certainly is pretty on the eyes and made for the gram but whether it tastes good is another matter.

We had the following items at KafeBali Puchong:
Nasi Uduk (RM32++) which is an Indonesian style Nasi Lemak served with Ayam Lalapan (a deep fried chicken with spices), Telur Betutu (a fried egg topped with Balinese pesto), Lawar Tempeh (a Balinese bean salad) and Sambel Terasi.
Iga Martabak (RM32++) which is a flatbread stuffed with a slow cooked beef rib that has been marinated in coconut and palm sugar, served with Asaman Gedang (pickled papaya). This really looked like a quesadilla.

I also had a Kopi Gula Merah (RM17++). I just felt like having a sweet coffee that day.
This is being written 2 weeks after our initial meal at KafeBali Puchong and all I can say is that while the food was very beautifully plated, it left nothing memorable on the taste buds. The food was competent and the wait staff attentive. It surely plays up well to taking photos and shooting reels, but that is all there is to it.
The food and drink at KafeBali Puchong wasn’t bad in any way. I just feel that it doesn’t live up to what was paid (RM93.95) for it. But if you want a pretty place with pretty food to match your pretty face, this is a one of the places to go.

Get off at the Taman Perindustian Puchong LRT station.
