Late lunch at Wen's Kitchen on Jalan Tengkera, Melaka. Run by the irrepressible Wenila Nadarajan, this is the only restaurant in Malaysia specialising in Chetti Melaka cuisine. Absolutely delicious dishes that make you want to come back for more soon.
Kerisk Kulit Timun - cucumber skin salad, with grated coconut, chilis, pounded dried shrimps, and belimbing buluh.
Sambal Telur Belimbing - wolf herring roe, belimbing buluh and dried shrimps.
Ayam Chili Garam - batter-fried chicken coated with chili paste.
Look Aram Jada - coconut milk-rice curried vegetables, with aubergines, bitter gourd, long beans and radish, with chili-sambal belacan.
