Chiefeater Steven C T Tea made a happy find of a very good wantan mee at Restoran Jia Wei in Taman Gembira

Located in Taman Bukit Indah, Mun Kee is a hidden gem renowned for its delectable cuisine and inviting ambiance. I recently had the pleasure of having a fish filled lunch at Mun Kee.

The star of the show was undoubtedly the 美蓉莲 Smashed Ginger Steam Fish. Delicately prepared to perfection, each bite of this succulent fish melted in my mouth, leaving behind a symphony of flavours that danced on my palate. The fish was incredibly smooth and tender, infused with a medley of a lot of ginger to remove any fishy taste from it.

Equally impressive was the salted egg chicken, a dish that captivated my senses from the first bite. The chicken, coated in a crispy golden batter, was expertly seasoned with fragrant salted egg yolk, creating a harmonious balance of savory and salty flavors that tantalized my taste buds with each mouthful. It was a true testament to Mun Kee’s culinary expertise and commitment to excellence.

Complementing these standout dishes was the tofu, a humble yet satisfying addition to the meal. Its soft and velvety texture provided a delightful contrast to the bold flavors of the other dishes, offering a refreshing palate cleanser between bites.

However, it’s important to mention that Mun Kee is not air-conditioned, so I recommend visiting on a cooler day to fully enjoy the experience.
One thing to keep in mind is that Mun Kee operates on a first-come, first-served basis and does not accept reservations. However, a quick call or WhatsApp can help you confirm their operating hours and avoid any disappointment.
