Dinner at Pho Le

Kolo Mee, Kampua Mee, Non-Halal
Some weeks back while looking for food at Semenyih Sentral we came across this shop selling Sarawak noodles call Sarawak Noodle House. Looking authentic we decided to drop in for a try hoping that it is better than the many peninsular kolo mee we tried.

We find the decor and even the owners that operate the stall looks very Sarawakian. Walking in and seated down we felt transported back to Sarawak.

The young lady boss said the family come from Miri and has been operating the stall for some years already. Told her we are still looking forward to taste authentic Sarawak Kolo mee and asked her if there is any different between East Malaysia Kolo Mee and here in Peninsular. She said the difference is in the noodles found there.

The taste of Kolo Mee do taste reasonably good although still not able to compete with the best Kolo Mee we had in Lawas our first taste of Kolo Mee. However her is the beat so far that we tried in peninsular.

I find their Kampua to be rather satisfying good, which is smooth and easy to eat, perhaps. Personally I like it better than my first time trying kampua mee in Sibu, which speaks about the quality of their serving.
We ta pau a pack of Kolo Mee back for our son to try. The following day we asked him how was it without giving him any back ground. He commended that it was very good with sparkle in his eyes. Blind taste test passed. Since than we had frequent this shop a few times.

Well with our limited exposure to Sarawak Kolo Mee and Kampua we are satisfied with having it here serves by pure Sarawakian. For anyone who has more expertise in these dish perhaps can go and check them out the next time you are around Semenyih and drop a note what is your take on it. Or anyone missing the vibes of eating in a East Malaysian I believe shop this place will not disappoint.
