Local Breakfast, Kopi, Pork-Free
I went on a day trip together with a few friends to pay our last respects to a friend’s mother. Along the way we stopped by Kedai Kopi Kheng Juan Hin for a late breakfast. Officially they close at 1 pm, but they usually run out way before that. We managed to get the last 4 eggs they had today and if you think the picture looks good, wait till you have it.
Look at the glistening eggs!

The toast bread and the half boiled egg combo at Kedai Kopi Kheng Juan Hin is one of the best I have had in Malaysia. You have to eat the toast bread together with the egg the moment it arrives. The toast bread is toasted on a charcoal fire grill. It’s toasted to a crispy perfection with a wee bit off chewiness for that extra bite. The kaya and planta doled in generous dollops within it, making sure you never bite into a bit of bread that has not been slathered with goodness.

Another plus point for me is that the egg is served the way you see it. I did not have to break it out of its shell. Those who missed out on the eggs settled for this bowl of noodles instead.
The nondescript store front of Kedai Kopi Kheng Juan Hin that belies the beautiful breakfast inside.

PSA – The lines get very long on weekends and parking becomes almost impossible.
