Fish Head Noodles, Non-Halal
“Leave your love to your family; Leave your stomach to us”. With such a catchy tagline for a restaurant, we just have to go and try the foods at Lek Kitchen in Oakland Commercial Centre, Seremban.

The dainty restaurant is non-aircond, thus could be warm during lunch. A friendly and cheerful waitress approached us for our orders. We had their signature fish head noodles, fried Hokkien noodle, Shanghai seafood noodle and side orders of fish cake and pork ribs.

The signature fish head noodle comes in a milky, slightly tangy broth, bits of tomato, some green vege, preserved mustard, chunks of crispy fish head, and with a whim of chinese wine. Taste wise, the broth was mild compare to better ones I had else where.

The fried Hokkien noodle that comes in a dark molasses-like sauce was flavourful, with bits of crispy pork lard.

The Shanghai seafood noodle comes with lala clam, squid and two medium prawns in a starchy broth, with a strong ginger and garlicky taste. Somehow, I found a slight bitter after taste.

The fried wolf herring fish cake (西刀鱼饼) was firm, fresh and bouncy, and it’s tasty. The accompany tangy chilli dip was appetising. The pork ribs was decent and normal.

The restaurant do have various variety of foods on their menu. Service was efficient, and reasonably price. Surrounded by office blocks and other restaurants, parking might be difficult during peak hours.
