I wanted to try out new delivery options and decided to order from Hanan Nasi Kerabu. I ordered the Nasi Kerabu with Daging Bakar (RM9.90) and a plate of Bihun Goreng (fried vermicelli) for only RM3.50. I also added a piece of fried chicken for an extra RM5.50. Price-wise, it was certainly a good value, especially the vermicelli – it came in a generous portion that felt like a real steal.
The Bihun Goreng was on the sweeter side, but thankfully I had some sambal at home which helped balance out the flavours with its spicy kick. That amped up my enjoyment of it.

The Nasi Kerabu, however, was a bit of a mixed experience. Chiefeater Jen mentioned that the rice was too soft, which detracted from the usual appeal of this traditional dish, where a firmer, fluffy texture is often preferred to carry the vibrant mix of herbs and vegetables.

It was the Daging Bakar (grilled beef) that was surprisingly decent. The beef was well-seasoned, delivering a pleasant, savoury flavour without being tough. It was a satisfying component of the meal and complemented the nasi kerabu (and even my bihun goreng) nicely.
Hanan Nasi Kerabu offers solid portions and decent flavour at a very reasonable price, especially if you’re looking for a budget-friendly meal.
