Greek, Pork-Free
Lunch at Mazi Greek Taverna, a charming Greek restaurant in Kenny Hills, was a delightful experience that also offered excellent value for money. The place oozed the charm of a provincial Greek tavern and immediately was a respite from the . Opting for their set lunch, which starts at RM30 for a 2 course meal, I started with a warm and comforting Greek bean soup, followed by a main course of Gyros (there was an additional RM5 for this option). For those unfamiliar, Gyros is a traditional Greek dish made from marinated meat — chicken in this case — that is slow-cooked on a vertical rotisserie, resulting in juicy, tender slices infused with Mediterranean herbs and spices.
The initial watery look of the Greek Bean Soup belied how good it tasted. Within it was the ingredients of bay leaf, cannellini beans, celery, yellow onions, garlic, lemon, oregano, cayenne pepper coming together to provide a rich and hearty starter.

The Gyros stood out with its superbly seasoned chicken. Each bite of the chicken was tender, with the meat properly marinated to provide a delicious bite. Even the fries that came with were delicious. The pita bread was a good complement to the chicken.

The ambiance at Mazi Greek Taverna further enhanced the experience, offering a lovely environment to enjoy a leisurely lunch. At RM35++, this set lunch was not only delicious but also a good deal.
