English, Pork-Free
Dinner at the Elementary Restaurant & Bar TRX transported us to what felt like an old English pub, with its dim lighting and a cosy ambiance setting the tone for a delightful evening. The phrase “Elementary, my dear Watson” played on a loop in my mind, completing the Sherlockian charm of the venue. The low light and polished wooden décor gave it an air of understated sophistication.
We started with the Weekend Roast, featuring roast beef, roast chicken, and an assortment of vegetables and potatoes. While the meats were well-seasoned, the beef arrived slightly cold. That was an unexpected letdown. The chicken fared better, with a decent balance of flavour, though it didn’t steal the show.
Instead, the spotlight belonged firmly to the sides. the roasted potatoes were golden, crisp, and indulgent, while the vegetables offered a satisfying bite that complemented the meal beautifully.
Next, we had the Sea Bass Fish and Chips, which came with a creative twist: the vinegar was presented in a spray bottle, lending a refined touch to this pub classic. The fish was fresh, flaky, and perfectly battered, with each bite a good mix of crunch and tenderness. Pricey, yes, but enjoyable.
Spray on vinegar
The weekend roast came with a dessert.
The bar was too inviting to resist, so I treated myself to a pint of Guinness, which rounded off the evening nicely. If you’re seeking a spot that melds a vintage pub vibe with a contemporary edge, the Elementary Restaurant & Bar at TRX is worth a visit. Cheers to that!
