Big Breakfast, Non-Halal
The Really Big Breakfast at Red Kettle Garden is aptly named—this is no mere morning meal; it’s a feast. Priced at RM56.90, it takes the crown as the priciest big breakfast I’ve encountered in KL, but it certainly delivers on size and variety. It is for most people, a breakfast fit for two.
The dish features a generous spread of homemade pork bacon, pork sausage, and smoked ham, alongside French toast, grilled bread, roasted vegetables, sautéed mushrooms, eggs, corn, cherry tomatoes, and a fresh salad. Every element was thoughtfully prepared, making it a joy to share.
For me, the standout item was the smoked ham, its flavour adding to the dish. Jen and I found the portions substantial, making this best enjoyed by two people, especially with its impressive plating (just for scale, there was an iPhone 11 in the foreground!).
To complement the meal, I opted for Red Kettle’s special Vietnamese coffee (RM15.90). This isn’t your typical Vietnamese brew, it’s enhanced with a beaten egg, adding a creamy richness to the coffee. A unique and indulgent pairing to the hearty breakfast.
Red Kettle Garden may be at one end of Gardens and not easily seen but that has not stopped it from being found. While we were there, a steady stream of diners were heading in to the restaurant.
