Chiefeater KC Yan indulged in some Lebanese cuisine at Al Amar Pavilion KL

Cakes
I recently visited Texture by C3 Lab, a contemporary pâtisserie located in Atria Shopping Gallery. This outlet is the retail and dining extension of C3 Lab, a renowned culinary workshop known for its high-level technical skill and artistry in pastry.
I ordered the Citrus Chocolat, and it was a lovely experience. The cake features a sophisticated design with multiple layers of chocolate and citrus elements. I particularly loved the blend of the soft, spongy cake texture with the crunchy wafer layer hidden beneath it, which provided a satisfying structural contrast. The dark chocolate glaze on top, accented with a touch of gold leaf, added a refined finish to the dessert.
Citrus Chocolat Slice: RM27.00
No SST or service charge
Score: 7.5/10
M – Meal Value
While RM27.00 for a single slice of cake is on the premium side, the technical execution and quality of ingredients make it a worthwhile indulgence. The complexity of textures—from the soft sponge to the crunch of the wafer—justifies the boutique pricing.
Score: 7.0/10
V – Venue & Vibes
The pâtisserie in Atria Shopping Gallery offers a casual environment of just 3 tables. Their cafe is no longer open so they only serve cakes now.
Score: 7.5/10
X – X-Factor
The true X-factor is the structural artistry of the pastry. C3 Lab’s focus on contrasting textures is evident in the Citrus Chocolat, where the interplay between the citrus brightness and the rich chocolate, along with the varying tactile levels of the cake, creates a memorable experience.
