Hono Omakase is arguably one of the most theatrical omakase experiences in Singapore now. Built around the concept of the “Magic of Fire,” guests are invited on a multi-sensory dining journey where flames, smoke, and Japanese culinary techniques create a visually captivating performance alongside each dish.
Found this – new Omakase place in our father daughter journals – and it’s exactly what I’ve come to abhor (theatrics). The place js <1 yr old at International Plaza, a bustling work F&B hub in the CBD. Unlike Sushi Hono, most if not all the eateries here cater for <$30 office worker / fast lunches. Nothing to fault about the freshness of the seafood on display - but don’t expect knife skills and stoicism from the Japanese omakase chefs of old. This place is helmed by locals (nothing wrong with that) and offers an interactive experience instead - great for the Gen Z instagrammers surely! Overall 6/10. Not sure we will be back though.
