Buffet, Vegetarian
yesterday after being at the hospital my friend and i decided to go for lunch at an indian vegetarian restaurant, Annalakshmi Penang. the last time i was there was more than a decade or even 2 decades ago. we went for the buffet which was at RM12.00. the last time i went, i remember the charges was ‘donation’ so means up to us to pay how much we want.
i thought instead of the buffet, i wanted to order some noodle and there was mee jawa but only on wednesday. that day we went, it was thursday, only pasembur available. wow! i notice at the buffet table there were 3 types of rice - 2 of them i haven't even try before.
ok, first normal white rice. spinach rice - heard of but never try. yogurt rice - never heard and never try. there were many good dishes to choose to go with the rice. there was also chapati. drinks was either plain water or juice. i don't know what juice it was but it tasted very nice that i got a second cup.
i choose spinach rice and two dishes. one of the is the potato broccoli with podi and the other er… no sure but could be the Gobi Shimla Mirchi Masala. my plate of the buffet spread.
both dishes i took were quite good. the rice as you can see, is not much but with the 2 dishes, quite filling. top right in the small container is yogurt, where the staff added in some pickle on top of it. i don't really like yogurt... didn't finish it.
Spinach rice
the staff who helped me to scoop the dishes (i can't do it since i was with a cane) scooped so much (or many?) papadam for me. i thought i can't finish them but i did as it tasted very good.
i tapau (takeaway) the samosa. they have 3 kinds of samosa: mushroom samosa, aunty samosa (potatoes) and punjabi samosa (potatoes and green peas). i bought the punjabi samosa. 3 pcs at RM8.00.
punjabi samosa. comes with this green sauce. don't know what it is made of. not spicy. punjabi samosa. showing the inside fillings. overall it was good.
think quite a lot of people are familiar with this indian vegetarian restaurant. nice open space with a lovely garden. one had to take off shoes when entering. i cannot take a lot of pictures and what i took not so good since i took them while seated. all the food pictures (except my own food dish) were taken from my friend.
