The Chinese New Year eve lunch we had at Elsie's Kitchen CNY Set was excellent. Nestled in Happy Mansion Section 17, this dining gem offers an exquisite lunch experience that leaves a lasting impression. The setting may be simple but the quality of their dishes belied their set up. As lunch progressed, it became evident that Chef Wan's culinary prowess was on full display.

The meal started with the double-boiled herbal chicken soup, a comforting elixir that warmed the soul and invigorated the senses. Each sip was a revelation, revealing layers of nuanced flavours.

The signature roast pork stole the show with its sublime texture and tantalizing flavour profile. Each bite was a symphony of crispiness and succulence, leaving us craving for more.

Next came the Steamed Sarawak Silver Patin which showcased the freshest ingredients and expert technique. The fish was both delicate and flavourful.

Let's not forget the golden salted egg prawns, which was above average. I have had a lot of prawns and while this was not best I have had, it exceeded expectations with their crispy exterior and luscious salted egg sauce.

Braised Abalone and Mushroom in Scallop Sauce with Brocolli

The Lap Mei Fan, or Chinese Sausage Fried Rice, was elevated to new heights. The yoon cheong, or Chinese liver sausage, added a depth of flavour that was simply magnificent.

Chef Wan's meticulous attention to detail and expert seasoning shone through in the dishes, striking the perfect balance of flavours without overpowering the freshness of the ingredients. It's evident that his culinary mastery extends far beyond the confines of his regular menu.
