Jawa Mee Goreng, Street Food, Non-Halal
This roadside Famous Jawa Mee Goreng stall run by a senior proprietress, Aunty Hooi Eng, offers jawa mee goreng (fried jawa mee) with a delicious twist, making it different from the others.
Aunty Hooi Eng does not include the usual and cheaper cucur (fritters) as an ingredient in her jawa mee goreng. Instead, she uses fresh prawns and homemade char siew (sweet barbecued pork). [Editor: Fuiyoh! Char Siew as an ingredient]
Humble and affable Aunty Hooi Eng, 65 years old, has been selling jawa mee (fried and soup versions) for 40 years. She is one of the small roadside hawkers in Penang who deserves our support and patronage for her good food as well as very reasonable prices.
