Cantonese, Pork-Free
Brought my mum to try out the newly opened Farmer Village Restaurant in Kajang. The ambience is curated to look like you step into China as you go in. It is a collaboration between a chinese owner and a local developer entrepreneur presenting different takes of chinese food than what we are used to from any local Chinese restaurant, mainly presenting Guangzhou dishes.

Everyone likes their special two way kampung chicken very much. The meat is chilled than shredded and presented to be mixed together like “low shang”. Man, every mouthful bites were just so comforting and tasty that one can not get enough of it. The kampung chicken is unlike what we used to as it is of very big size, 6 off us unable to finish it so we ta pow the balance to continue to savour it’s goodness back home.

The stock used to boiled the chicken is turned into herbal soup serve in a large clay pot. We asked and added some table salt to bring out its flavour, taste much better the following day from the ta pow.

The home made tofu is so refine and soft, cooked with nice pleasant lingering fragrance to it. I must say the best self made tofu that I tasted thus far.

The sweet and sour siakap fish flavour is very well balance with all the flavours works together perfectly. Wish for bigger fish to enjoy.

Another highlight to end our meal since it came last was the claypot Mala Beef. The mala broth was cooked well balance without being overpowering like some that I have tasted. The warmness of the broth and the light spiciness warms you up. Best eaten hot and will be great for cold weather. The beef was slightly on the tough side other wise it will be perfect.

Our total bill came up to RM280+ for 6 persons, which is considered as fair price especially for the unique dishes that we can try without travelling to China for.
For order above RM150 we got the kampung chicken dishes for 50% discount at RM68/chicken. They offer RM29 per chicken for bill above RM300 as their promotion for 99 days. Come and enjoy the offer while promotion is still on.

So anyone wish to try good China dishes locally do give Farmer Village a visit. Believe me, you will not be disappointed.
