Tang Jai Yoo Restaurant Teochew Dinner

Char Kuey Teow, Non-Halal
i love char koay teow (CKT). this time found a stall, Hao Ge Seafood Char Koay Teow, that sells ‘premium’ seafood CKT. RM23.50! yeah, most expensive CKT i have ever try.
RM16.50 with crab meat (no egg), RM7.00 with add-on prawns.(add-on prawns were 3 pcs prawns. normal, all CKT has 2 prawns). the stall which used to be at air itam, recently moved here, at wisma central, macalister rd. my first time trying it and i think will be my last time as i tried it for novelty sake and for ‘first time’ sake.

the chef is a young man, desmond mok.

ok the verdict. just kind of average only. several others much better. prawns were big and fat but not really tasty. the koay teow looks darker than most fried koay teow i notice (using more what sauce? dark soya sauce?) but the taste of the koay teow was not bad. it was spicy as i requested for but problem is that it was too oily. hmm… will hesitate to go back then (even for normal one).

different types (7) of CKT with its prices. the big letdown is that there is no si ham (cockles). to me cockles should be a must in CKT, like the lap cheong (chinese sausage).
