ABC Brickworks Market Roti Pratha
Indian, Pork-Free

Soto, Pork-Free
While strolling past Ho Ping Kopitiam, a modest yet bustling old-school coffeeshop, I noticed a Soto Daging stall. Craving something different, I decided to give it a go. This turned out to be a good find.
The Soto Daging (RM9) arrived swiftly, piping hot. A squeeze of lime was provided to brighten the broth, and we noticed that seasoned regulars were adding a mix of soy and thick black sauce from the table to deepen the flavour. I chose to enjoy it as is, and even without those additions, the soup was fragrant, well-spiced, and comforting.
The beef was thinly sliced and nicely flavoured, tender enough to soak in the savoury broth without turning stringy. A small note for would-be diners: the soto stall is cash only, so come prepared with paper money in your pocket.
