February 2026 at Kampong Hailam, Melaka. A short drive from Lereh River Resort is Kampong Hailam. Well, the Hainanese community has been relocated to some other place. Only one hailam kopitiam is still operating. A few brothers run this kopitiam, Mayling Kampung Hailam Kopitiam. Very friendly folks.
The hailam chicken chop is marvelous. My favorite. Only RM16.50/plate. I pay RM21.00/plate at Yaw’s Roast, Pulau Tikus, Penang.
Their Mee goreng is good too!!! Mayling Kampong Hailam kopitiam only opens 3 times a week. That is from Friday to Sunday. For CNY, they will be closed from 9th of February 2026 to 5th of March 2026. Long break.
