Mee Goreng, Street Food
Sungai Bakap, a small town in the southern district of Seberang Perai is more commonly known as Jawi among the locals. This small food truck, Mee Sotong Uwais, stationed under a big tree outside Kedai Kopi Kah Pin in the middle of the town offers mee sotong, mee goreng, mee rebus, kuey teow goreng and pasembor. It is undoubtedly the most popular mee stall in this town.

A plate of mouth-watering mee goreng (RM6.00)

En Azwan, the current proprietor took over this more than two-decade-old family business from his uncle five years ago.

The next time you are in Jawi for its famous chai kuih, do spare some space in your tummy for one of Azwan’s offerings. I did and I was very pleased with the mee sotong that I had.
Mee Sotong – RM7.50

Pasembor – RM6.00
