Chiefeater Celeste Tan ponders on the question if Singapore is ready for the Hokkaido Soup Curry at Soup Curry by Ki-setsu

Japanese, Kaiseki, Fine Dining
At last one of my makan list in Kyoto at Minokichi Takeshigero Granvia Kyoto. Kyoto cuisine /Kaiseki cuisine. Love the experience to dine there. Really enjoy it. The dishes came one dish by one dish just like omakase in Penang. The texture, the flavour so refined it’s not only turned on my taste bud. It’s pushed my taste bud to a mix level (upgraded taste bud).

I ordered October Fuji Lunch Menu which had 7 types of dishes.
1) Home Made Sesame Tofu. (New concept for me. Never came across a tofu texture so chewy. Is a good surprise for me) and Deep fried shrimp shaped Taro with Poppyseed.

2) Soup : Matsutake Mushroom and Conger Sea Eel Steam Boiled in an Earthenware Teapot. With Japanese Sudachu Citrus. The flavour was so refreshing and the sweetness of the mushroom plus the Eel was just incredible. The flavour just stick to the Hard Palate.

3) Sashimi: Assorted Today’s Sashimi
So fresh and so gooood

4) Seasonal Dish
Deep Fried Sweet Fish with Roe, Roasted Wagyu Beef, Chestnut, Myoga Ginger with Vinegar, Kabosu Citrus. No bones in the entire fish or maybe they deep fried it until the bone so easy to eat it was certainly a surprise for me too

5) Bowl Dish: Roasted Turnip and Eggplant dressed in Ginger Starch Sauce. Can only say the dish taste so elegantly

6) Rich Dish: Matsutake Mushroom rice or Soft shell turtle porridge. Of course I choose Soft shell Turtle Porridge. It was so yummy. Light and flavourful

7) Dessert: matcha jelly with red beans. At last I get to taste this dessert. Love the red beans texture.
