Restoran Pu Yuan is a small eatery tucked away next to the old Klang Road post office serves traditional Hokkien-style stir-fried dishes that have a history of 40 years. Today, I specially brought Chiefeater VK, and his spouse to explore the nostalgic flavours and hunt for deliciousness.
I recommended a few signature Hokkien stir-fried dishes: “Braised Pork with Fried Vermicelli”, where the coarse rice vermicelli is stewed and stir-fried to perfection, delivering a delightful chewy texture, and the braised pork is homemade, not from a can. The signature “Stir-fried Yam Vermicelli” is a unique option that’s not widely available elsewhere, a must-try with its distinct texture. The “Hokkien Fried Noodles” boasts a well-balanced soy sauce seasoning; remember to pair it with their special sambal chili for an instant flavor boost. For those who enjoy fried delights, give their “Century Egg Pastry” and “Fried Spring Roll” a try – crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside.
