Siam Laksa, Non-Halal
I was back in Taiping on CNY 2024 Day 3. On arrival my first destination for lunch was to try out this highly talked-about Siam Laksa among my Taiping classmates, a new dish “kid” in the block! The stall is located at the frontage of Pusat Makanan 3939, along Jalan Kota, a famous food court among the locals here in Taiping.

The Siam Laksa was served in a bowl, well garnished with generous amount of onions and cucumbers. The serving was quite fast considering the long list of orders taken in a book during the festive season. You could smell the aroma of Siam Laksa , the moment you walk into the restaurant. The soup has got the unique taste of Siam Laksa. Was actually expecting a larger portion, but I guessed it may be due to the festive CNY. Josephine, my wife, commented that it has got the typical souring taste but not too lemak. As for me, I wallop the whole bowl including the soup.

It only costs RM7 per bowl, that’s a steal coming from a KL city boy returning to his hometown. They also serve Mee Kari at the same price and a mixture of both Kari & Siam Laksa , at the price of RM8. Perhaps I should try this combination on my next trip.
Can expect big crowds during lunch time & dinner time.
