Japanese, Ramen, Non-Halal
Ramen Mob PJ SS4 has recently opened its doors in a quiet but emerging foodie community within the SS4C area. This establishment is part of a ramen restaurant chain that also serves Taman Desa and Taipan.
Ramen Mob’s menu is inspired by traditional Japanese flavors, with a particular focus on Hakata-style ramen, which they make from scratch.
I had the pleasure of tasting two distinct ramen flavors from their menu: Shiro and Kuro. Shiro is Ramen Mob’s signature pork-based soup, crafted by simmering pork bones for 18 hours, resulting in a thick, hearty broth with a robust meaty flavor. Kuro is a variation that infuses black garlic into the same broth, adding a rich garlic-porky goodness.

Overall, Shiro lived up to its description. The broth was flavorful and on par with some of the big names in the local ramen scene. The pork chashu had a nice sear on its edges, and the egg featured a pleasantly runny yolk in the middle.
Kuro offered that extra layer of garlic goodness atop the savory pork broth. For this option, I chose the Yakibuta meat, which is Ramen Mob’s signature thick-cut pork belly with Japanese BBQ sauce. The Yakibuta also had an excellent sear, and the taste-bite experience was superb. It’s worth noting that they offer various meat options to customize your ramen experience.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that they also serve Mazesoba (Japanese dry ramen) and Donburi (Japanese rice bowls). I am eagerly looking forward to my next visit.
