Pork Meatball Noodles, Street Food, Non-Halal
I recently tried the Sam Kan Chong Pork Meat Ball Noodles at Restaurant OK Puchong Taste in Bandar Puteri 5. This particular stall had received good ratings, so I decided to give it a go for a simple lunch.
A small bowl of these noodles comes at a reasonable price of RM9 and is generously sized. The big bowl costs RM10. The minced meat was pleasantly well-seasoned. However, I made the mistake of ordering yellow noodles; I should have gone with loh shu fun instead. The flavour of the noodles seemed to clash with the sauce, and I felt they didn’t pair well together, with the noodles somewhat competing against the sauce’s taste for attention. The “siew cheong” that came with the dish had a nice crusted side but alas, lacked flavour.

On a positive note, the soup served with the noodles was quite good. It had a delightful peppery kick to it. The real highlight, though, was the meatballs. They had a delightful bouncy texture and were flavourful enough to be enjoyed on their own or with the sauce in the noodles.

Parking along this road can be a nightmare. But if you would just park on Jalan Puteri 5/20, it’s just a short walk to the shop. Better yet, just take a Grab or train here.
