Restoran Soon Lok Puchong Jaya may be best known for their roast duck, and rightfully so. They’ve expanded steadily from a single shop lot to three, with a second outlet now operating in Bandar Puteri. But on this visit, I wasn’t there for their signature dish. I was there to try their curry wantan mee.
At RM15.50, expectations were high, but the bowl didn’t quite deliver. The curry broth leaned heavily on MSG yet still managed to come off flat, lacking the depth or spice kick that would have made it memorable. Noodles and toppings were serviceable, but the whole dish felt like an afterthought compared to the stronger items on their menu. Safe to say, I’ll be sticking to the roast duck next time.
The coconut jelly (RM7.50) was actually quite decent.
