Lo Chan Kee Wantan Mee
Wantan Mee, Street Food
Chiefeater Luke Soon savoured a traditional Cantonese wantan mee with lean char siew at Lo Chan Kee in Holland Drive

Indian, Pork-Free
We were hankering for some Indian (Goan) food so decided to head down to Little India. It’s usually Apollo, Shakuntala, Jaggis ir even Muthus along Race Clurse Road. But today we decided on Slicy Junction with Chiefeater Susan leading the hunt. To our surprise there was a crowd loitering in front of the restaurant when we arrived – we found out that it was Onam (a harvest festival) – and the only thing in the menu was Onam “mini” sadhya meals. Think Omakase vegan Indian from kerala on banana leaf. The main Onam sadhya is on 10th and 11th September.
Sadhya is the traditional nine or more course vegetarian meal served on banana leaf. Onam harvest festival is marked with a special feast lunch on last day and includes rice and a sweet at the end. The Onam sadya (feast) is another indispensable part of Onam, and almost every Keralite either makes or attends one.
$95 for 4 pax. Too pricey for Indian vegan food for me. I’d give this 6/10.
