Would you like to try probably the best cream puffs in the world? My friend and go-to-pastry chef Suzana Bt Yusof makes delectable desserts at her quaint bakery DSY Pastry in Ukay Perdana. The choux pastry puffs are filled chock- full with swirled vanilla cream, which does not go flat after a few hours, unlike most other commercial cream puffs. They are topped with a fine dusting of icing sugar. Pop one and you will instantaneously be transported to food heaven. And one is never enough.
She also bakes mango cheesecakes, marble cakes, butter cakes, fruit cakes, chocolate cupcakes and Sarang Semut cakes. Her brownies come piped with rich hazelnut chocolate cream. Her colourful pavlovas are a feast for both your eyes and palate. Her cookie repertoire include peanut Makmur cookies ( from an age-old recipe) and melt-in-your-mouth cheese tarts, fruit tarts, Cadbury tarts and pineapple tarts.
Father's Day came early for us this year. Thank you Suzana for making my most favourite treats so accessible despite my busy schedule. Highly recommended if you have a sweet tooth like us. Believe me, our family has tried everything. We could probably her best customer if it were not for our rising HbA1c levels:)
