Fusion, Pork-Free
Taverna by the Tokyo Restaurant at Gardens is the sister outlet of the popular Tokyo Restaurant at Lot 10. Combining the Italian commitment to meticulousness and Japanese dedication to craftsmanship, Taverna represents a harmonious fusion of cuisine, craftsmanship, and culture. That’s their marketing spiel of the place.
We had the set lunch here. I ordered the Combo Chicken Cacciatore (RM45++) while my friend ordered the TTR Beef Stew (RM45++). The set lunch came with a soup of the day and bread (pictured below).

The Chicken Cacciatore was a stuffed chicken breast, tomato sauce, mushroom, roasted capsicum, mashed potato, fresh basil. The stuffing is made of puréed chicken which is an interesting concept of chicken within chicken. Two textures of chicken in one dish. The chicken breast providing the firm yet tender texture. The stuffing providing a melt in your mouth spicy chicken. I loved it.

John had the TTR Beef Stew which was a braised wagyu brisket, potato, carrot, cream and served with bread. He enjoyed that immensely. He said the meat was tender and flavourful.

We rounded up the meal with a tiramisu and a cheesecake. We both agreed that the cheesecake was better of the two. The Tokyo restaurant cheesecake is light and airy and was just a wonderful end of to a lovely lunch. I think a Chardonnay could have gone quite well with that.
Tiramisu

Cheesecake

Certainly worth coming back here for a meal.
