Western, Chicken Chop
Star Cafe Taman Desa is one of the F&B OG of the area having been there for over 30 years.

They recently went through a major renovation and the whole building has been turned into a multi-storey F&B establishment with a Chinese restaurant, Xing Cuisine, on the ground floor and Star Cafe occupying the floor above.

I was at there for lunch and decided to try their Black Pepper Chicken Chop Lunch Set (RM28).
The chicken chop set came with a bowl of creamy cauliflower soup, chicken chop with fries and salad, and a choice of drinks. There were options such as iced lemon tea, but I opted for water. The chicken chop was tasty, and I particularly enjoyed the crispy skin. It was served with black pepper sauce on the side, allowing me to add as much as I wanted.

The cauliflower soup was also decent. It was creamy and made a pleasant start to the meal.

Overall, it was a satisfying lunch, and at RM28 before taxes and service charges, I thought the set offered reasonable value.
Star Cafe has a spacious, contemporary interior with comfortable seating, wooden tables and large windows that allow natural light into the dining area.

The restaurant was comfortably air-conditioned, and even the toilets were air-conditioned and clean.
Parking is not a problem. There is an open parking area next to the café that provides additional spaces.
What interested me most about Star Cafe, however, was its potential as a venue for private gatherings.
Star Cafe is a lovely option for anyone looking to organise a birthday celebration, company gathering or private event in Taman Desa.
I confirmed with the restaurant that the dining area can accommodate up to 100 people.
There is also a mini stage with audiovisual facilities, which makes it suitable for events that require speeches, presentations or entertainment.

They also have another banquet space on the 2nd Floor which is equipped with a large screen.

For smaller gatherings, Star Cafe has a separate private room on the 3rd floor that seats 18 people on a single table.

With its spacious interior, event facilities, private room and convenient parking, Star Cafe Taman Desa is a venue worth considering for a celebration.
The restaurant also serves draught beer and a wide variety of alcohol, which adds to its appeal for more relaxed social gatherings.
