Indian, Roti Canai, Pork-Free
While running errands in Taman Perindustrian Puchong recently, I came across a little restaurant called KKV Restaurant that I had never noticed before. It was tucked away in an industrial area, but the restaurant looked clean and inviting so I decided to stop in for a quick breakfast.
I’m always game to try local community joints that don’t get as much attention as the ones located at busy commercial areas, and KKV Restaurant did not disappoint. The decor was simple but tidy. Interestingly they even had booth chairs there, which was totally out of place here.
We had a classic South Indian fare – crunchy roti canai and fish curry. The roti canai was well-cooked, with a nice balance of soft insides and crispy exteriors. It went perfectly with the tasty fish curry. The curry had a rich, coconut-milk base flavoured with fragrant spices and a nice tangy taste. If only the curry was served hot, it would have been perfect.
My son educated me on how to get a drink served extra cold. Order it as a bungkus (to go) and they will serve it in large plastic bag in a metal bowl. This is his teh ais bungkus.

I was quite pleased by the quality of food and service here. This hidden gem is worth seeking out for anyone looking for some good, affordable South Indian fare in a friendly setting, albeit in an industrial area.
