Wantan Mee, Non-Halal
In the vibrant culinary landscape of Puchong, a new contender has emerged. Thai Kong Kopitiam, as its name suggests, brings together the bold and robust flavours of Thai cuisine and the subtler tastes of Hong Kong fare. It's an intriguing fusion, one that promises a unique dining experience that's worth exploring.
Jen has the Stir-Fried Beef Noodles (RM18.80+). When it arrived, there was unmistakable wok hei. However, it fell slightly short in the flavour department. The robustness of Thai cuisine's flavours didn't shine through as expected, leaving the dish somewhat wanting.
My Pork Rib Curry with Dry Noodle (RM22.80+)however hit many right spots. The Dry Noodle is really Wantan Mee. The firm and chewy texture of the noodles was a highlight, reminiscent of a Hong Kong wantan mee. The pork rib curry, with its infusion of Thai spices, was both flavorful and delicious. However, the only drawback was that the pork rib had bone splinters in it, slightly affecting the joy of consuming it.
Thai Kong Kopitiam offers a unique and exciting dining experience by bringing together the diverse worlds of Thai and Hong Kong cuisine. While there may be some fine-tuning needed to strike the perfect balance, the potential for an exquisite fusion of flavours is certainly there.
