Boink is one of my usual breakfast spots in the Puchong area for its good coffee and excellent breads. This time, I drop by to check out some new breakfast offerings on the menu. Hey, having scrambled eggs on a croissant every time gets boring after a while.
This new item is a winner: sauteed mushrooms and scrambled eggs on a toasted sourdough slice (below RM20). The mushrooms are sliced thinly and cooked just enough to be soft but not chewy or dry. The strong aroma might not be to everyone's liking but the taste and texture hit the spot for me. Slice a fork-full of mushrooms, egg and toast, stuff it into the old maw and get ready for an explosion of flavor.
The herb focaccia with egg, chicken ham, tomato and cheese is a hearty and filling breakfast. The bread is soft and fluffy, the herb sprinkling on top giving it a strong taste of oregano and rosemary. If you don't mind your hands getting messy, pick it up like a sandwich and dig in.
Coffee here is good as usual. I had a slight mishap on an earlier visit where my food order arrived very late. The crew immediately apologized and they gave another cup of coffee on the house, so I really appreciated their handling of the issue. Boink can get busy in the early morning from delivery and pick-up orders.
Note: Boink implements a very convenient cashback system using Beepit. Just scan the QR code on the receipt, enter your phone number, and you can claim a discount on your next visit using that same phone number.
