Ngoh Juan Yong Kopitiam Hainanese Delights
Post by Chiefeater Yeap Chu Seng
On a working trip to Alor Gajah, Melaka today. Since it was lunch time, decided to have lunch at Ngoh Juan Yong Kopitiam. This Hailam restaurant have been around since 1946, and it's good and heart warming to see multi racial customers happily enjoying their meals at their 2 adjoining shoplots.
We had the Hailam fried noodles, salted fish fried rice, chicken chop and rendang chicken. The fried noodle and rice comes with a sunny side up fried egg.

Service was good, and our food arrive after a short while. Sadly, I noticed that the fried was to dry type, and not the usual Hailam fried noodles that is usually with some thick gravy, and more over, I could not help noticing that both the fried noodles and fried rice was cold when served at our table. I had a feeling that it's mass pre-cooked.
Taste was normal, price-wise was reasonable. There are many other varieties of food available, ranging from nasi lemak to stewed soup to toasts. Parking was quite easy along the main front road.
